The Museum of the World Ocean invites you to travel to the Chukchi Peninsula. Irina Levashova’s personal exhibition of ink wash paintings (Japanese suibokuga) titled The Images of the Chukchi Peninsula is on at the Maritime Exhibition Centre in Svetlogorsk. Petals, stones, roads and wind come to life in Irina Levashova’s scrolls. Her each painting is a laconic landscape with an empty road going into fog or an intricate portrait of a Chukchi reindeer breeder with a face looking like a magnolia flower. This is declaration of love. The love for this land, people and life itself.
