| Oceanic diesel-electric submarines of the project 641, to which the submarine B-413 belongs, was built at the Novo-Admiralteisky shipyard in Leningrad. Seventy-five submarines were built; 58 were for the USSR Navy use and 17 for India, Libya and Cuba. Submarines of this project worked in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans till the 1990-s. The B-413 was launched and joined the USSR Navy in 1968. It belonged to the Northern Fleet till 1990 and then to the Baltic Fleet. In 2000 the submarine was passed to the Museum of the World ocean.
CHRONOLOGY
September 7, 1968 - was launched.
November 24, 1968 – the naval USSR flag was hoisted.
1969 to 1990 - served as a part of the Northern Fleet.
1969 - visited Havana, Cuba; visited Conakry, Guinea.
1970 - took part in the "Ocean" training exercises; visited Cienfuegos, Cuba.
1987 - ranked "Honor Ship" by the Northern Fleet Commander-in-Chief, as an exemplary mine-laying submarine.
1991-1999 - served as a part of the Baltic Fleet. Commanders of the submarine B-413: A. Trusov, ñaptain second rank; B. Pogorelov, captain second rank; M. Zharenov, captain third rank; V. Sirotin, captain third rank; V. Nikolaev, captain second rank; A. Fedorov, captain third rank; A. Sorokin, captain third rank; O. Lapshin, captain second rank; V. Ushakov, captain third rank and S. Basakov, captain first rank.
June 14, 2000 - was moored at the museum quay.
July 1, 2000. - was ceremonially transferred to the possession of the Museum of the World ocean.
July 2, 2000 - received visitors to the first exhibition - “From the History of the Russian Undersea Fleet”.
August, 2000 – money for families of perished submariners from the Kursk was collected.
March 19, 2006 – solemn 100th anniversary of the Russian Undersea Fleet was celebrated.
