The yachtsmen’s club unites 45 yachtsmen of the region – masters of sport of Russia, yacht captains, skippers and ordinary yachtsmen. It has been cooperating with the museum since 1995. Yachtsmen discuss matters of organizing and holding sport events. Club members are participants of sport navigations and international sailing regattas. Sailing sport is one of the most spectacular competitions. All the regional and city water events are held with yachts of the club. The yachtsmen club is actively involved into the museum’s life. The “Vitiaz’s Mile” – international regatta – was organized with the help of the club in 1999. The junior sailing club “Ocean” was also initiated owing to support of the yachtsmen’s club. Foreign sportsmen visit our museum and city according to the initiative of the club. Together with the club members the museum is elaborating the “Marina” project – future sailing centre.
