Cancellation ceremony of the postage stamp

ScanIn April, the Museum of the World Ocean and the Mail of Russia planned to solemnly cancel the jubilee postage stamp “265 years since Admiral F. Ushakov’s birthday (1745−1817)”.

But the epidemiological situation changed the plans and the ceremony was postponed.

It was held on June 3 at the exhibition Depth attended by honorable guests. Kaliningrad became one of a few cities in Russia where the ceremony was held.

The jubilee postage stamp features the portrait of Admiral F. Ushakov, the St. Andrew’s Flag, the battleship St. Paul, a map of Corfu and nearby territories. The stamp is made of chalk overlay paper with perforation 12:12½. The size is 37х50 mm and par value is 50 roubles. The number of printed copies is 180,000, including 3,600 pieces that will be provided to post offices in Kaliningrad Oblast.
