The Nautical School. A styled room to look like a classroom at a nautical school houses an exhibition devoted to the history of nautical education in Russia. The most expensive exhibition project in the history of Kaliningradregion organized by the Moscow Kremlin Museums and the Museum of the World Ocean with PJSC LUKOIL.Visitors can see unique artifacts displaying the history of origin and development of the Russian Navy. The most part of exhibits is related to the Petrine Epoch. A new joint exhibition project with LUKOIL-KMN is devoted to the history of oil production in Kaliningrad region as well as to the “black gold” itself and ecological aspects of oil production.

The Aral Sea. The Ustyurt Plateau. In the Year of Ecology in Russia, the Museum of the World Ocean invites to the exhibition project displaying the tragedy of the Aral Sea. A part of Depth exhibition was turned into a unique area in the Middle Asia – the desert Ustyurt Plateau which was the bottom of the ancient Tethys Ocean 20 million years ago as well as the Aral seabed, one of the largest lakes on the Earth disappearing in full view of the present generations. Sixty photographs under one title The Unknown Land: the Aral Sea and the Ustyurt Plateau at the Museum of the World Ocean present the story about the diversity, uniqueness, beauty and changeability of the great world of Nature.

The Danube Delta (October 28 – December 5, 2017). A joint photo exhibition project created by the Museum of the World Ocean and the Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development tells about the nature reserve in Romania and shows inimitable beauty of its landscape.
Location: congress hall at the main museum building.

The Record File. A new exhibition project that comprises only one object. But its significance and value are so high that it deserves to be a dominant artifact at the display. Visitors onboard the Kosmonavt Viktor Patsayev can see the original book The Records Set by the Soviet Cosmonauts on the Space Station Salyut.
This document of 1971 contains all the records and achievements registered during the mission of the first world’s manned space station Salyut 11.

The Seven Stories (November 9 – December 9). The All-Russian exhibition organized by the Ministry of the North Caucasus Affairs is about Caucasian regions, their nature, history and tourist attractions. Ingushetia, Ossetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chechnya, Stavropol Krai, Georgia and Dagestan are portrayed in the photographs by young photographers living in these republics. The project starts simultaneously in 14 large Russian cities, including Kaliningrad. The works themselves are to be located at the open-air territory of the Museum of the World Ocean (near the Old Port).
Free of charge.

People of the Sea. The ethnographic exhibition about life, daily routine and religion of the peoples inhabiting Southeast Asia. Considered to be one of the five best in Europe, the collection comprises over 1,000 unique artifacts which had been collected throughout several decades.
Location: Maritime Exhibition Centre in Svetlogorsk (Yantar Hall Variety Theatre).

Baltic plein-air painting exhibition (till November 15, 2017). The exhibition is by artists from Crimea who took part in the plein-air academic painting on the Baltic Sea coast. The pictures displayed demonstrate Sebastopol artists’ vision of the Baltic.
